Resolutions Smesholutions

For the same reason I despise Hallmark holidays when you are expected to profess your love, when you should do it everyday, I loathe New Years resolutions, because you shouldn’t wait to make those resolutions; fulfill them when you think of it, whether it is January 1 or September 14.
And speaking of Hallmark Holidays, I saw Valentine’s Day point of sale promotions waiting in line to purchase my post-holiday reading binge at Barnes & Noble yesterday. I have a Kindle, but I still love the feel of books in my hands. I walked out with 10 books, and I’ll finish them in the next month. Christmas isn’t even cold in its grave, and the ashes from New Years’ celebrations were still smoldering when the pink, purple and red of Valentine’s Day hit stores’ shelves.
So as the calendar flipped from 2014 to 2015, I resolved to enjoy the holiday and not look forward too much. That’s really hard to do because I’m a planner, but at the same time, I also despise the commercialism of holidays. And I resolve to tell the people I love, that I love them daily, and not just on special occasions.
Wait, did I just make a resolution?
