I was responsible for envisioning the need for the new page, lobbying senior leadership for the personnel hours needed to publish the page, creating the content and framework, and marketing the page itself once it was published.

Global Genes

Webpages I created:

I worked with team members to establish the new page and the Spanish translated page, created the content and framework, and marketed the page itself once it was published.

To increase SEO for the Global Genes website, I created pages for the top-searched rare diseases including Stiff Person Syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I worked with clinical staff in the organization to create the content, and the most logical framework for the pages. These pages would serve as a template for the organization to add pages as other diseases became more prominent in search results.

A look back at the 2022 RARE Advocacy Summit

Content that I’ve written:

This blog was created to improve SEO for specific diseases that have high search results for the Global Genes website.

This campaign involved interviewing staff members and board members that have connections to a rare disease themselves. The purpose was to show how a loved one could get involved in advocacy efforts themselves, and to share some of the personal stories from the team.

Global Genes Awareness Campaigns

While at Global Genes, I began a campaign of videos and blogs featuring awareness days and months for rare diseases from their affiliated condition-specific non-profit organizations. For example, for Trisomy Awareness Month and Trisomy 18 Awareness Day, I reached out to the E.WE Foundation to write a blog to highlight some of the patients that they work with, and how their organization has helped them. I give the organization the option to write their own blog, send a video, or have one of their patients write a blog talking about their experience living with the disease. Sarita Edwards, the Founder and CEO of the organization, chose to tell the story of her family, and why she is driven to advocacy.

I curated from ideation to outreach and publishing. These blogs live on the website and increase SEO optimization for the conditions mentioned, were included in email newsletters to subscribers, and were also shared on the organization’s social media accounts.

I created this presentation while I worked at Georgia Tech for a seminar for other conference services programs to help them understand how to attract better leads for their own programs. I showed how identifying your ideal client base and boosting reach to a target audience can yield better results for lead generation and closing the deal.
